FishyGirl asks how I come up with blog posts. Hum, sometimes I actually sit and make some notes about various events in my life, but more frequently I get ideas from reading other blogs. I have found that when I post everyday or close to that I end up more just unfolding a story and telling little vignettes rather than struggling for a damn topic. I will admit, I do search for topics and memes from time to time and I am the first to admit, a cute baby picture sometimes must suffice for words when I am just at a loss. Also, posts like this where readers ask questions gives me topics to cover and I get a sense of why people read.
Hilary wants to know what I would eat if cost, nutrition and logic were not factors. If by disregarding logic you mean I can eat something that knowingly would make me ill, I'd have to say for breakfast I'd have a toasted Everything bagel with cream cheese and slices of Extra-Sharp Cheddar on top, a large glass of OJ and coffee, for lunch I'd have charcoal grilled skirt steak, Nachos (cheese product dip, natch), grilled fresh picked asparagus and a funnel cake with extra powdered sugar and for dinner I would have a bowl of fresh cherries and fresh picked blueberries with REAL whipped cream, steamed crabs and almond flavored pound cake.
What? You asked!
Bonggamom wants to know what that stain is on Noah's shirt. Seriously, you think I know which stain you are talking about? Heh.
Chances are it was an average day-everyday stain which means a combination of Ritz cracker detritus and yogurt, shellacked with some watered down apple juice. That what causes the sheen!
I do have a great stain remover, this stuff works!
De in D.C. asks the question I get more often than any other, do I censor myself because of who reads my blog?
That's a tough question. I guess the answer is more NO than YES but it depends. My family reads my blog, some daily, some just check the pictures. There are colleagues and coworkers of my family who read my site and update my family on my goings-on. I have several very close girlfriends/mom-friends who know that I do some writing, for something called DC Metro Moms but they have never asked where they could find it and never mentioned that they did find it. I try to follow the notion that the one person who I don't want to read something probably will. And thus, I don't write about other people's children with any specifics, or certain issues, or certain family members. I write only things that I would say in casual conversation if you were in my living room and I'm not a terribly private person. I think relationships are built on trust and mutual sharing. I've lost friends because they found my potty mouth and dirty jokes to be ... indelicate for their girly ears, to which I'd say, no fucking way!. I approach controversial issues as OPINION and therefore arguable but inoffensive. Sometimes I think it might be nice to be totally anonymous so that I could rant and bitch about people but then again, that's what my husband and close girlfriends are for, right?
