I love a good snow storm. I like being snowed in, shoveling the front steps and cleaning off the cars, cooking some tasty chili or soup, baking bread, watching TV and cuddling all warm inside. But this year Mother Nature has serioulsy dissapointed the DC area.
Finally late Friday night we got a heavy dusting of snow covered with some crunchy ice. Not at all what a snow lover like myself has in mind but I'll work with what I've got. Two years ago Noah was scared of the snow, wouldn't stand on the ground, refused to touch it and looked generally displeased and ill-at-ease when photographed outside near fallen snow.
But that has changed! I can't express to you how excited I am for him and for us (snow play as a family!) It just feels so good to see him enjoy something so normal. And it feels good to have a normal experience as a mother .
I got the cooking bug last night and decide to make a Mediterranean Pizza using a vegan whole wheat crust from Whole Foods.
I may have been a little heavy with the feta cheese but in all other aspects this was a super healthy and very delicious half of a meal. I served it alongside some sauteed cabbage and a greek style chicken breast.
haha no problem! I assumed it was me as my comments don't seem to post to blogger sites. boo for spam!

Oops, my fault Heidi, I had changed my comment settings to require my approval before publication because I was getting spam comments, I forgot to approve. Now the are approved! No glitch, unless you count that of ME and MY BRAIN.

I thought I commented on this post! Argh, comments are not working at all for me. Only about a third of my comments go through and I have no idea why! Anyway this looks so delicious! Especially that pizza - yum!
How cool that Noah is enjoying the snow now. Enjoy your snow!!

As your friend representing all things Greek, that looks delicious! (At first, due to context, I thought that was snow on your pizza haha.) I made pizza yesterday too - spinach and my mom's dried tomatoes. (LOVE my mom's dried tomatoes.) Can you believe we got snow here in Greece before you guys did (AND a snow day even!). I'm glad you're enjoying it!
