One of the reasons I really like participating in the SV Moms Book Discussion is that a great book always falls into my lap just when it happens to be the validation or inspiration I need.
If you haven't been following lately, I just had a baby, less than three weeks ago. It has been said before by someone who says things far better than I ever will that "reconvening your procedure" isn't always an easy thing to accomplish. And because in the next few weeks, after getting the green light from my doctor, the same doctor who has cut me in half and stitched me back together again, twice, I will be in the business of "reconvening my procedure," it is just lucky that The Mominatrix's Guide to Sex: A No-Surrender Advice Book for Naughty Moms by Kristen Chase arrived in my mailbox last week (disclosure: for free, really.)
Moms usually have to get sex advice from other women at playgroups or from reading Cosmo while in line at he grocery store checkout counter. It's a refreshing change to have a book written for us, about us, and delivered in a way that is perfect for us to read in our notoriously short snippets of available free time.
Since I spent the last ten months dealing with an increasing body size, morning sickness, migraines, acne, diarrhea, constipation, gas, heartburn, and a variety of other less attractive symptoms while gestating my beautiful daughter, I fear they might have changed sex since I last participated in the great act. It is my nature to assume that everyone else has more frequent and better sex than I do but having just read a great tell-it-as-it-is book, I know better now.
Kristen Chase reminded me that no matter how much snap my vagina has lost or how long it has been since I last shaved my legs and pits, I, too, can be desirable again, with a little work and a little effort. And most importantly, I'm not the only one who goes through this!
You don't have to be a vixen to read or need this book, the chapter about ahem, back door (note: butt related) activities is in the very back and you can totally skip it if that skeeves you out.
