We had a long weekend. Last week I was stressed out and worried about getting it all done, preparing for Noah's first birthday, making time to be with him, exercising, and going to Marc's holiday party and leaving Noah for the essentially, the first time. It all worked out mostly and here I am on the other side with pictures to prove we are all here, albeit, sick with a head-coldish-coughing-plague, and living to tell about it, with pictures, because words of type would take too much energy, energy that I need for nose-wiping and baby wrangling.
I ran out Saturday afternoon to get a pedicure before Marc's holiday party. It's a good thing too, I wore the open toed shoes, not the red ones which are now bigger than they were in the store.
We went to Marc's party which was a good time. It was nice to get out of the house while wearing eyeliner and not carrying a diaper bag. As you can see below, I went with Option 1. Thanks to all of those who commented and gave me ideas. I planned to wear a pair of red shoes actually, but when I got home, they were much bigger than they were in the store and I didn't want to be falling out of my shoes all night.
Note: Pretty toes.
I even bought some new make-up and then took this horrifying shot and I had not had anything to drink yet I swear.

The next day was Noah's birthday and we had a small little family party with gender-inappropriate cupcakes. Oops. I blame the food coloring industry because that much red dye should be BLOOD RED, not, hot pink. Oh well, he'll never know. Except for the fact that this photo is saved for all time on the Internet.
My brother even call and said he was going to come over. I don't get to see him very often so I was super excited and then super bummed. He got into a minor car accident on the way over and never got to my house what with the getting the car to the body shop and getting a loaner car and all. In case you missed that, this is what happened to him:
His current mode of transportation will be:
And finally, what's a birthday without a little blood? Just after everyone left, Noah's cupcake induced sugar-high led to a minor fall on the stairs where his head hit the banister and left a big 'ole black and blue knot on his forehead. And then later he fell over a toy and got a bloody nose.
Here's to hoping the rest of the holiday week improves.
Happy B-day noah and you look gorgeous!
