In a recent conversation with a blogger friend we talked about her short postings and my not-so-short ones. Her response was that she is a "blogger" not a "writer" ... I am a blogger, I mean, this is a blog, right? I am also working towards becoming a writer, so perhaps that explains, excuses and allows for my verbose wordiness here, sometimes, but usually. Haha!!! See ... I have a way with words, no?
Anyway, it's almost Saturday and we're gearing up for another family-centered meal of calorie-laden carbohydrate-rich foods. Marc's grandparents are here with us for a few days and I have to say they are the best guests ever. The best grandparents ever. They take best all-around. Marc really has a special relationship with them which is both admirable and endearing. It was this aspect of his character that I found most respectable and attractive in the first place. I had just finished being my grandma's caregiver in her terminal months; it was a priority for me to find a man who was at least close to his family, and I did even better than I thought I would -- at least when it comes to that area.
We spent the official Thanksgiving Day at my Uncle's house in St. Michaels and Noah met his three year old cousin for the first time.
I spent the majority of the meal, at least while the food was still hot, nursing Noah and rocking him, and then he slept through dessert so I made up for missed turkey-time with a few extra slices of pie and cake.
How was your holiday and do you have any plans this weekend? More eating for us tomorrow and perhaps some football and EXERCISE on Sunday?
Your holiday sounds like it was marvelous! Mine was, too and it was AMAZING to have those days off in a row. Also, the carbs OMG. :)
