Open Letter to the MoFo teenage girl who tried to run me off the road this morning.

If I remembered your license plate I would put it up on the Internet and hopefully your parents would see it and so would other drivers and they would hit you with their Escalades and Hummers (yeah, there are a lot of them around here).  I would also tell them you gave me the finger, after trying to pass me on the right and run me off the road. I am a better person cause I gave you the finger in my mind!  There was no lane, there was a white line, and a big 'ole ditch.  And, it did you a lot of good because we ended up at the light at the same time, me waiting behind you this time, and somehow that was better for you.  I hope you drive very fast into a tree while giving some other nice person the bird !  Fuck you, I hope you die before you kill someone else. 

p.s. for those who want to know, it was on Seven Locks Rd between Tuckerman and Democracy at about 8:55am this morning. The asshole bitch was in a white Mitsubishi with Maryland plates that I'm kicking myself for not remembering at this moment.

Marc is out having a fantasy baseball draft. Yeah, I don't know either.  I think it is cool, but it is a game about a game.  So, you know ... perspective.  That said, I'm excited about baseball season starting and my exhibition game THIS FRIDAY.

My face itches a little. Stitches out in three days. Woohoo.

How to get skin cancer at age 26.

Some of you regular readers may recall that few weeks ago I posted about my visit to the dermatologist where I found out I might have a skin cancer on my face. 

Well ... I haven't received tha pathology results yet but I do have a photo story to outline the events leading up to the diagnosis and removal of a piece of my face.  I am now a very-non-make-up'ed gal, with stitches in her cheek and a bruised eye as a result of the swelling. 

I grew up in the 80s, while it was a post-coppertone baby era I think I could have actually been the coppertone baby.  I was a blonde haired child with blue eyes and was blessed by the grace of G.O.D with skin that not only tans easily but gets super tan.  I don't recall my sunscreen use as a kid - but as a teenagers it was a challenge for me to get as tan as possible before labor day and return to school with one of the darkest tans ever.  I used sunscreen - Bananna Boat Oil, SPF 2, and occasional SPF 4, but never higher than 8 - and I didn't use that very much.  In my mid twenties I started to realize that my face was getting the beginnings of wrinkles around my eyes and it occured to me that I needed to wear some protection on face.  So, at the age of 25 I became a loyal wearer of Aveeno's SPF 15 moisturizer. 

Can you say, "too little, too late?"

The teen years looked something like this ...

Years of sun exposure + not much (fine, none whatsoever) sunscreen = Basal Cell Carcinoma.

The needle to numb, the waiting for the numb to start, sitting under the "sterile work environment" ...

Whoa! Bye Bye cancer!

Where's my SPF 30 ?! I'm never doing this again.

It would be patronizing of me to actually explain the moral of this story, but I'll do it anyway.

They are coming out of the woodwork to see me !

Sometimes yesterday afternoon my site got listed on a bulletin board about broken legs or casts or something like that. 

So, since then, I have had almost 700 visitors.  In less than 24 hours !  Blimey!

I'm very proud of my recent exposure but I'm not sure what to write about next.  I have working on a posting, a serious one, but that won't be ready for a few days.  So, thanks for visiting.  Look around, leave a comment, come back soon.

Happy Hours

Went for a drink with an old chap after work and had a few good laughs and two vodka and diet cokes. 

Marc found his plane ticket buried in an old pile of mail and trash at his "apartment" where he hasn't really lived in, like, 11 months.  He is no longer  totally intent on canceling his credit card and overturning the management at AirTran. I just burned, make that, charred a bag of microwave popcorn. No doubt due to the vodka. So, I tossed it on the balcony and made another bag. This time, remembering to press the popcorn button, not just randomly punch in three whole minutes which is what my old microwave needed for a regular bag of p'corn. Ah, the vodka.

I'm actually enjoying this new show Unanimous (p.s. Kelly should be in a mental ward) where like ten people are all assholes and they have to vote to give one person a million or so dollars.  It's a little crazy, i don't think I will watch many more episodes.  Again, the vodka.

On a totally different note, I'm working on a story that I think will help many people. I'll be publishing as soon as possible. Stay tuned.
